US stocks end mixed. Dow another record. Biggest weekly gain since July.

S&P misses out today. Declines. Nasdaq continues its pause

The US stocks are ending the day mixed. The Dow sets another record and has the largest weekly gain since July. The S&P and Nasdaq fell.  The Nasdaq lagged this week.

The closing numbers:

  • The S&P fell -1.10 points or -0.04% to 2929.65 
  • The Nasdaq fell -41.275 points or -0.51% to 7986.95
  • The Dow rose 86.52 points or 0.32% to 26743.50

For the week, below is the changes for some of the major indices:

The Dow beat the heck out of the Nasdaq, with the tech heavy index falling -0.29% for the week.  It is not often that index is the lone negative one of all the majors.  

The Nikkei was the biggest winner at up 4.59%.  In Europe, the major indices were all up over 2.4%.  Great week there.
