I’d put some of these in the ‘shock’ basket rather than surprise basket.
#6 caught my eye, its probably not the most shocking but something new from the Bank of Japan in 2023 is pretty much consensus now (isn’t it?).
Anyway, surprises are good – nothing like a bit of financial market volatility to keep traders fed!
